Fan-Back Windsor Side Chair in "bamboo style" with seven spindles. Spindles slightly swollen at middle. Fan back chair rail supported by two turned outer balusters. Solid seat above four turned legs - two side stretchers connected by one stretcher. Chair rail is red maple. Shaped seat is white pine. Legs and stretchers are boldly turned and all with cylindrical grooving at pronounced swelling. Painted black. Doweling of the legs into the seat does not extend fully through the seat. Seat shaped with outward curve at back and with a pronounced outward curve to the front which is also rounded towards the center. The back of the seat has an indented curved line accentuating its shape.

Black paint worn away to exposed wood in places. The seat has sustained a major repair where the left-hand stile enters it because an original section had broken off and has been replaced. This chair is a high calibre example typical of the fine craftsmanship of Ebenezer Tracy.
