Notes

This desk belonged to Jonathan Edwards Scott (1812-1886), a ship captain who lived on high street in Wiscasset. Jonathan's first wife was named Joanna Oram Parsons Scott (1815-1852) and she died in March 1852. They had two daughters, Helen and Fannie (1850-1912). Jonathan then married Eliza Ann Clark (1850-1912) and they had a son named Henry. Jonathan turned over command of his ship Emily McNear to his brother and retired in 1871.
