Description

Pen knife or penknife is a British term for what Americans call a Pocketknife. The blade is folded into the handle and can be pulled out when needed. The knife may have one blade, as with this one, or may have multiple blades. Types of these knives were common in the 18th and 19th centuries. Modern versions, typified by the Swiss Army knife, have multiple blades and tools.
