Marble memorial to Edith Cavell, a British nurse killed in Brussels, Belgium, in 1915. A figure of Cavell in nurse's uniform and cloak stands before a pylon inscribed "Humanity" just above Cavell. In the background at left is the Westminster Bank Limited, with arched ground-floor windows. At right are low-rise shops and the Coliseum, with a tower. Men and women walk in the streets in mid-20th century clothes. The memorial is located in St. Martin's Place in London, England.Photograph Details
