A student nurse assists a physician treating a patient in a bright, sunlit room while a graduate nurse observes. The student nurse, standing at left in front of metal shelves stocked with supplies in glass containers, wears a long white gown and a white cap; she holds an enamel tray draped with linen. The physician, dressed in a long white gown and cap, leans over the patient's draped arm; he appears to be suturing the arm. The patient, dressed in street clothes, including a shirt and tie, sits in a chair with a towel draped over his proper right arm. The graduate nurse stands closest to the bright window, hand on a wooden examination table. The physician is tentatively identified as Dr. John Foley.Photograph Details
