P79-884 Open Air Sports Car Stopped on Lake Street (St Charles Road) Around 1917. Information on back of photograph: A Classic Photograph showing the open-air sports cars around 1917, stopped on St. Charles Road and a fork in the road, which is now Glenbard Avenue. Standing next to their Twomley sports car (r.) are Roy and Leola Roath, Lombard residents. Roy Roath's father founded Roath Real Estate which is now operated by Rollin Roath. This is among the many old photographs which will appear in the book about early Lombard, "Footsteps on the Tall Grass Prairie," scheduled to be released by the Lombard Historical Society in February. The pre-publication price is $12.60.
