Description
Main Street and Lake Street (St. Charles Road) intersection looking west on St. Charles Road after 1906. [About 1920.] From an old postcard loaned by Seth Mayer in April 1965. "Meck Store [is] just beyond [the] building on [the] right with stairs." Small building in the foreground on the right served as the Village Hall (police department, etc.) for several years. Marquardt and Fischer houses are on the left side of the picture.

Problem Child: There are five copies of this picture in varying sizes. The two large copies have one set of numbers and the two 5x7s have two different numbers. The last copy, a 3x5, has no number but is stamped Property of School District No. 44.
