Photograph is black and white view of First Congregational Church, SE corner of West Fourth Street and Washington Avenue, steeple which fell on No. 1 Fire Station next door, during 1924 Tornado.
Note in file: The First Congregational Church was a wooden structure on the corner of 4th and Washington. The tornado blew the church and its steeple out onto the fire station. The next day the members met at Irving School to give thanks for those who survived. They immediately started a company to raise money to build a much larger brick church on the same site.Acquisition
