Transcript of U.S. Steel Message as broadcast via NBC Symphony Summer Concerts, September 3, 1950, read by "Hicks":
"...Earlier this program I spoke to you about Labor Day and about the 300,000 men and women who make up United States Steel's great family of workers. Right now, I'd like to tell you a little about one typical U.S. Steel worker and his individual family. ...a Labor Day story of a good American named Alex Molnar, head of the very fine Molnar family. For more than 40 years Alex has been an employee of the Lorain, Ohio Works of the National Tube Company, important U.S. Steel Subsidiary." Segment goes on to outline how many members of Alex's family are also employed by National Tube: his three sons and the spouses of his two daughters. "...Families like the Molnars have had a great deal to do with the development of our nation - in peace and in war - and with the growth of the industries that are the background of our free and enterprising economic system."Acquisition
