Photo of Mike Ferrer (far right) and his friend Tab (far left) at the Jefferson Memorial (torchlight tattoo) in July 1980 during his first Spirit of America Show. Mike is dressed as a Continental soldier and prepared to participate in the reenactment as one of Washington's soldiers. He had a black box with paper for gunpowder. He put together his gun himself and shined up his white vest beforehand. Mike served in the U.S. Army and was a member of the Commander-in-Chief's Guard, a special ceremonial unit. Mike had only been in the Guard for about a year when this photo was taken. Tab was from Pennsylvania and acted as Mike's best man at his first wedding.Collection
