Letter to the Teachers, Supervisors, and Principals of Lorain City Schools from the Lorain Board of Education dated August 7, 1924; signed D.J. Boone. Discusses conditions in Lorain following tornado including the death of teachers Miss Florence Shepard. Miss Ruth Richards was injured in the Van Deusen home. They estimated the number of pupils killed to be fifteen - three high school pupils and twelve elementary. Also includes property loss damage in dollar amounts.
School will open September 8. And the challenges in funding, housing for teachers, and building conditions are discussed.
