Oral history interview with Hector Medina. Hector was born in Ponce, Puerto Rico and has been here since 1953. Describes jobs he has held in the auto industry. Remembers seeing signs of prejudice in Lorain while working at a car wash. Was a member of clubs called Latin Lords and El Dorado, which is a group for senior citizens and El Centro. Played latin percussions at St. Mary's Church and bass guitar at Sacred Heart. Hector said, "I can play the harmonica, guitar, bass. I play Latin Percussions at church meaning congas and bongos, maracas, and Quidos. That's basically it I have played for numerous amounts of bands." Hector has played for: Justo Sabrin in a Latin Jazz Band. The Wind Jammers Big Band. Mi Banda that was a Latin Jazz Band. Describes a lot of the culture of Puerto Ricans in Lorain: speaking Spanish, holidays, and culture.
