Scope and Content

Oral History interview with Amado Pena. Amado was born in 1925. He was born and grew up in Fort Worth, Texas. After he got out of the navy a friend told Amado about work in Lorain and he moved here in 1947 to work at the steel mill. Describes first arriving in Lorain and having to stay in a garage for board. Describes South Lorain community. He was active in the Mexican American Citizens Club. Describes in great detail serving in the navy in the south pacific during WWII. Includes some photograph scans and images.
