"Early Negro Settlers in Lorain" written by Darlene Brown. "The following information was obtained from surviving relatives of some of Lorain's early black settlers. Most of the material was documented by pictures, letters, and birth records." The last line of the document appears to be a message from Darlene to Mr. Doane (likely Al Doane) noting that all of this information was obtained with the help of Mrs. Avon (Lois) Wheeler).
