Black and white postcard is view of damage on Hamilton Avenue and 5th Street after 1924 Tornado. Postcard reads: "Hamilton and 5th, Looking East -- Lorain, Ohio". Written on back of postcard (1): "The other side at the bottom says Hamilton & Fifth Street. It shows on Fifth a little better but does not show the destruction of the storm on Hamilton. These cards do not show the awfulness as it was, house after house in the storms wake. It is about noon and the sun is just coming out after a cloudy morning. What a releif not to have to look out at our broken trees and demolished houses. Minnie". Written on back of postcard (2): Postmarked 7/23/1924, 8 PM, Lorain, Ohio; Held for postage, 7/23/1923. Addressed to: Mr. J. T. Snelves, 708 N Ochos st., El Paso, Texas "Lorain, Ohio, July 22nd 1924. Dear papa, This storm is the worst I ever saw. it lasted only 6 mins there isn't hardly a house that was damaged some the main street is still filled with lumber.
