This medal was given to Arthur Rogers Jr. (also known as Shoo Bootie or Bootie) at the 2nd Annual Rube Foster Night at the Pipe Yard which was sponsored by the National Council of Negro Women on April 26, 2009. The Lorain Black Athletic Club (also known as the Black A.C.s) were honored at this event. Rube Foster was a pitcher and a league executive for the Negro baseball leagues. He is often referred to as the "Father of Black Baseball".
