Oral History interview with Mary Jo Butchko Kamnikar, from the Lorain High School Class of 1961.
Mary Jo Butchko Kamnikar shared her life story at the Lorain Historical Society. Born in Youngstown, Ohio, she moved to Lorain, Ohio, where her father worked at the steel plant. She attended Garfield School and later Hawthorne High School, where she excelled in cheerleading and choir. Mary Jo's brother Bobby drowned at 14, impacting her family deeply. She became a medical secretary and later a dance instructor. Married for 63 years, she raised five grandchildren. Despite health challenges, including back surgeries and brain surgery, she remains active, teaching exercise classes and enjoying her tricycle.Acquisition
