Michael Joseph McGivney (August 12, 1852 – August 14, 1890) was a Catholic priest from New Haven, Connecticut. He founded the Knights of Columbus at his parish to provide mutual aid and insurance support, especially for immigrant families facing financial hardship. Over time, the organization grew into the largest Catholic fraternal society in the world, continuing Father McGivney’s mission of charity, unity, and community service.Acquisition
