Postcard is view of east side of Colorado Avenue, between C Street and F Street across from American Shipbuilding Yard, East Side Lorain, Ohio, showing damage and destruction of homes after 1924 Tornado. L to R: 431 Colorado Avenue, Elizabeth and Alex Boyzos Home; 441 Colorado Avenue, Mrs. Julia Szabo Home (widow of Joseph, two children). Postcard reads: "LORAIN TORNADO East Side Colorado Avenue #50 AB REINHART PHOTO ART SHOP Richmond Ind".

Context

NOTE IN FILE: After destroying much of the business district the tornado continued east over Black River and did much destruction to the houses on the East Side. As in any tornado, some houses were turned to matchwood, some were blown off their foundations and some were bypassed.
