Silver plate awarded as a prize by the Canadian Military Rifle League for shooting competition in1896. Won by the 20th Halton Battalion, Lorne Rifles.

Context

The Canadian Military Rifle League was formed in 1896 and lasted until the First World War. It encouraged the development of skill in shooting among the military units in the area around Hamilton. The plate is shot in situ in the museum gallery.
