Description

A Canadian Lance Corporal's Battle Dress Blouse, identified to the Lorne Scots Regiment (green shoulder flashes), with Canadian Mobile Command shoulder patches.

Use

The Battle Dress Blouse, often referred to as simply Battledress, was the working and field uniform worn by Canadian, Commonwealth and Imperial forces from the late 1930s until the 1960s. Battledress was worn by officers and other ranks alike.

Context

Force Mobile Command was the name given to the Army as part of the 1964 reorganisation of the Canadian Military. The name lasted until 1992 when it was changed to Land Forces Command. Lance Corporal was the lowest Non Commissioned Officer position. it was an appointment and not a rank, so it could be easily given out or taken away.
