A circular, silver medal, 1.42 inches in diameter. The medals are made of cupro-nickel. Obverse shows profile of King George VI. The medal is currently affixed to its privately purchased mounting.
Use
The medal was awarded to all full-time personnel of the Armed Forces and Merchant Marines for serving for 28 days between 3 September 1939 and 2 September 1945. A common medal issued to Canadian and Commonwealth forces during the Second World War.
