As a child, Harry went to Los Altos Grammar School. He then went to Mountain View High School. Harry moved to Los Altos with his parents in 1918, because his father was fond of the scenery. He is a close friend of Senator Alan Cranston.
The discussion centers on Harry, his friends Alan Cranston and Ralph Raymond, the typical activities they did, and a general discussion about what high school was like at the time. Harry also discusses the clique in Los Altos of wealthy, highly regarded, well-educated families. He tells a story about how he and his friend, Alan, disrupted a train line using a repair crew’s fireworks so many times that Alan’s sister pranked them into thinking the Southern Pacific Railroad Company threatened legal action.Collection
