Oral History of J.J. Ingraham (as told by his son, Ingraham Adams).
J.J. Ingraham began his education in Raymond, California, and continued in Sausalito. He then became an apprentice at the Union Iron Works in San Francisco. Both Ingraham and Adams were very friendly with other Los Altos citizens and supported their local businesses.
After his apprenticeship, Ingraham used his creativity to invent the fruit dicer to dice canned fruit in San Jose. He lived an energetic life, and Adams recalls the never-ending stories of excitement and adventure that he asked his father to recall. Adams also provides details of prominent Los Altos families, many of which come from his father. Ingraham once sat on a boat in San Francisco Bay to catch oysters, which he ate whole without checking for pearls, fresh out of the ocean.Collection
