Liz Nyberg attended UC Berkeley. She and her first husband moved to Los Altos in 1972. She describes her involvement in AAUW (American Association of University Women), the Newcomers Club, and Hidden Villa. She continues with other community endeavors, such as LAMP (Los Altos Mediation Program), the Los Altos Community Foundation, Los Altos Property Owners Downtown (LAPOD), Mentor Tutor Connection, as well as her involvement in Rotary.
She describes how she met her second husband Paul Nyberg and talks about how they worked together in publishing, eventually as publishers of the Los Altos Town Crier. She provides details on publishing the Town Crier and its evolving role in the community. The Los Altos History Museum, including the J. Gilbert Smith House, was another area where Liz contributed her volunteer efforts. She concludes with her reflections on the community of Los Altos (including Los Altos Hills and Mountain View) and the Town Crier. She talks about several of her careers, first in real estate, then in publishing (she published Homes and Land of Santa Clara Valley beginning in 1983, and continuing for eleven years).Collection
