Geschke got a B.A. in History from Marygrove College, Detroit, and a Master’s in Library Science from San Jose State University, San Jose, CA. Geschke came to Los Altos because of her husband’s job. California had held a fascination for Geschke and her husband. The children were young, but she soon involved herself in school libraries, and other community activities, as her husband worked in the tech industry.
The interview goes through her life chronologically, starting with her work as a librarian in technical libraries. When that phase of her work life ended, she became a member of the Los Altos Historical Commission. In that capacity, she produced the Los Altos History Show – more than 50 episodes that look at the local history of this area. Finally, she headed up the Exhibit Committee at the Los Altos History Museum and drove the exhibits on Wallace Stegner, Lucille and David Packard, and Josephine and Frank Duveneck.Collection
