Description

This house at 127 N. Santa Cruz Ave. was built in 1906 for William & Susie Walker Kyle, next door to the Coggeshall mansion. It was one in a long line of Victorians on the west side of the street. The Kyles were the parents of Gladys Kyle Shore & grandparents of Elayne Shore Shuman. William Kyle was the proprietor of the Capitola Bakery, initially located at 5 N. Santa Cruz & subsequently moved to the Kyle Building at 100 N. Santa Cruz, which was torn down in 1969. This house was torn down in 1953. SHU125
