Founded in 1891 by five farmers' wives from the Vineland and Union area for social purposes, the "We and Our Neighbors Club" met on the third Saturday of each month, a tradition that continues more than 100 years later. In 1910 a clubhouse was built on the corner of Union Avenue and Almaden Road, which still stands. From left to right (front row) are Mrs. Maria P. Schofield, Mrs. Julia Farrell and Mrs. Ella Heywood.
