Description
Broad gauging from San Jose to Los Gatos was completed in 1900. Broad gauging to Santa Cruz was almost complete when the 1906 earthquake caused severe damage to the rails and tunnels. Service resumed on May 29, 1909. Train service was discontinued to Santa Cruz in February 1940. HC087
