This is a rare and important photo. It shows Main Street from the bridge looking west, the area burned in the 1901 fire. A number of vacant lots are evident, including the future site of the 1907 Fretwell Building at Main and University. Both the Opera House and the Rankin Block were completed in 1904. BER013
