William John Whisenant (1897 - 1971) stands at the center of this circa 1929 photograph, smoking a cigar and surveying his latest project, a building at 49 East Main Street. When Whisenant arrived in Los Gatos in the 1920s, he purchased the 1890s building at left to house a pharmacy, grocery store, and soda fountain. BER052
