During the 1880's the northwest corner of the intersection of Main St. and N. Santa Cruz became the site of the first drug store in Los Gatos. The La Canada building was constructed on that site in 1894 and for nearly 100 years the tradition continued with pharmacists dispensing prescriptions under the "witch's hat" turret at No. 1 N. Santa Cruz Ave. SS072
