Robert Montgomery, left, explains to Norman O'Conner and Louis Sporleder about plans to install colored lights to illuminate the waterfall at the newly constructed Pageant Bowl. The program, August 16, 1940 was the first part of a celebration that included Trail Days, August 23 and 24, to commemorate the completion of the Los Gatos - Santa Cruz highway into town. Some of the dirt excavated in the construction of the new road was used to renovate the Pageant Bowl. PAG079
