Floral Carnival and Feast of Lanterns, May Day Parade, 1909. The Board of Trade sponsored this elaborate celebration, which featured a parade of flower-bedecked carriages, automobiles, and bicycles. Silver cups were awarded in each division. Adorned with pink LaFrance roses, Mrs. J.R. Welch's 1908 Rambler won in the category of "Best Decorated Auto Driven by a Lady."
