BA116Description
In 1902 the church's budget was under considerable strain. The year's total available was $299.26. The minutes from a meeting on August 16, 1903 describe the offer by Mrs. Helen McEwen of San Francisco of a church bell, which she arranged to have shipped all the way fro the east coast. However, the bell arrived with the freight charges unpaid. Church member James B. King paid the freight charges, expecting to be reimbursed, but since the church had no money he was never paid back.
