Description

The Charles H. Bergtold family came to Los Gatos circa 1922 and settled on an idyllic acerage overlooking Los Gatos Creek that they named Placer Oaks Ranch. Charles Bergtold (1870 - 1926) and his wife, Louise Corkill Bergtold (1884 - 1967), had an early dairy on their land. The Bergtold's Model T is seen here carrying them home. One of the original mill stones from Forbes Mill was located at the Bergtold ranch, and donated by the family back to Forbes Mill Museum in 2005. BER198
