The First National Bank was organized in 1911. It originally occupied a building on the south side of Main Sreet. In February 1912 it moved to the Fretwell Building on the corner of University Avenue and Main Street. In 1918 the First National Bank purchased the building adjacent to the railroad tracks on the north side of Main, and constructed this building in 1920. The bank, reorganized in the 1930s, was later purchased by the American Trust Company which subsequently merged with Wells Fargo Bank. The illustration in the upper section of this clock represents the Wells Fargo Bank logo.Collection
