Description

Jacque Libante is shown ironing a man's shirt. All detailed work was done by hand in this Gem City French Laundry at 11 University Ave. There was also a large mangle for sheets and tablecloths. Starch was an option, but as Janet Goodman, the Libante's granddaughter remembers, "(they) came out quite crisp from the mangle itself. Watching them run something through and then folding it was like watching precision dance steps." JLG003
