CON004Description
Philanthropist Andrew Carnegie (1835-1919) endowed Los Gatos with $10,000 for construction of this library building, which opened on September 25, 1903. The basement of the building was "fitted up" as a children's room in 1919. Lena Barbieri Conley recalls Lillian Fontaine coming into the town library, always dressed in elegant ensembles. She also recalls the Menuhin family as library patrons.Collection
