Description

Lena Barbieri Conley took this photograph of the town's swimming pool not long before it was demolished in 1954, to make way for the freeway. It had opened in 1927 in Memorial Park, where Highway 17 now runs. Before the pool was built, the boys of the village liked to walk up to a wide spot in Los Gatos Creek which they called the BooGang. It provided a place to swim and catch crayfish on hot summer days.
