CUR053Description
Being employed as a filing station attendant was novel enough in the 1920s to merit sitting for a rather formal portrait, as seen here. The young man on the right is Harold L. Curtis, born in 1906, and a member of a well-known Los Gatos pioneer family. His father, George G. Curtis, was born in 1864 in Maine, his mother Rosa in Pennsylvania. His brothers George and Floyd operated an auto stage line between San Jose, Campbell and Los Gatos in the 1920s, and his brother Paul was a local banker. The man at left is unidentified.
