This 1906 earthquake fissure created a bank in an orchard. The man standing in the fissure is Cecil S. Simon, son of Peter Simon, an engineer for the Southern Pacific Railroad. The family home was on Tait Avenue. The photograph was probably taken by Cecil's brother Paul. DIS102
