Description

Two of James Hardy Lyndon's (1847-1912) sons are shown here. The oldest child, James Lloyd Lyndon, born in 1875, is on the right. Little is known of the oldest son beyond his wife's name, Ella, and the names of his three children, Fern, James and Clair. A 1901 newspaper article indicates he is employed with J. H. Lyndon & Sons of Los Gatos. The 1920 census shows him working as a bookkeeper for an ice cream company. On the left is Clarence Hardy Lyndon, the fourth child of James and Anna, born in 1883. By 1910 he had married Ethel Elene Sullivan, settled at 115 Wilder Ave., and was working as a salesman. Clarence and Ethel's only child, Clarence J. Lyndon, was born in 1912. In September, 1918, at the age of 35, Clarence Sr. signed up for the World War I draft. His draft card indicates he was a "self employed merchant" who also served as a volunteer fireman for Los Gatos. His wife Ethel died in 1954 and Clarence Jr. died in 1982. FAR044
