Description

Henry Jewett Crall (1845-1926) enlisted in the infantry at age 15 and was twice wounded in the Civil War. He and his new wife Hannah arrived in Los Gatos in 1891 and opened Crall's "Palace of Sweets." Located at about 120 West Main Street, this store was destroyed by the fire of October 13, 1901. Crall moved his business several times before settling at 21 North Santa Cruz Avenue. Four generations of Cralls operated the family business until 1981. HC073
