Description

This ornate building was the Wilcox Block, which housed the Commercial Bank. It was located on the southeast corner of Oak Street (later Front Street, then Montebello Way) and Main Street, before burning to the ground in the great fire of October 13, 1901. Only the fireproof vault survived. The Wilcox Block was replaced by the Rankin Block in 1904. HC083
