Description

This building was constructed in 1884 on the north side of West Main Street, adjoining the railroad right of way. Standing in front of the business is, from left to right, Lewis Trailer, one of the owners, William Lingley, a Civil War veteran, and an unidentified man, perhaps Proctor. The building burned October 13, 1901, and the First National Bank was later erected on the site. American Trust Company succeeded the First National bank in 1954. HC034
