HC054Description
These buildings were on the north side of East Main Street east of Mill Street (later Church Street). They were torn down in 1924. Building in left foreground was erected in 1891 for the Keeley Cure Institute (for treatment of alcoholism and narcotics). The Institute opened December 25, 1891 and closed in 1895. Afterward and until 1913 the building served as the Town Hall. In that year bonds were approved and the twin-towered Town Hall (1913-1965) was erected across the street. HC054Collection
