Description

Portrait of Billy Jones in "civilian" clothes. He was born on January 26, 1884, and was fascinated by the railroad that rolled through his hometown of Ben Lomond. Jones completed his formal education at 13 and went out to find a job. He was hired as an engine wiper at the South Pacific Coast's Boulder Creek roundhouse. Four decades later, his seniority would earn him a spot on the most coveted run the railroad had to offer - the Coast Daylight. JON013
