Description

What became Alma College was first designed by Colonel S.H. Knowles in the 1880's. The Bonanza King James Flood built a mansion here in 1894. The property was sold to Dr. H.L. Trevis in 1906 and was owned by that family until 970 acres were sold by his heirs to the Society of Jesus in 1934. It served as the first house of theology in the west and was called Alma College. Jesuits received the last four years of their training here. The college moved to Berkeley in 1967. MTN132
