"My fellow 65+ year old neighbors and I were beginning to feel restless a couple weeks ago, so we’ve been dragging our own chairs, bringing our own drink, and sitting around in a big circle on one of our grassy areas on Sunday afternoons at five. We’ve been visiting by Zoom every Friday morning, too, but seeing one another in person is much better. And besides that, somebody always manages to surprise the rest of us with a homemade snack. One person brought in the little wagon in these photos. This first treat was placed on the ground, in the middle of the circle, along with a bottle of spray disinfectant which we sprayed our hands with before helping ourselves. We’ve gotten a little more sophisticated since then, and someone puts a table in the middle to hold the ever more abundant food. Trouble is, half the people are so hard of hearing that there is a lot of shouting going on across the wide expanse, and we have to call for order once in a while and “Raise your hand” if you have something you want to say to everyone!Collection
